"The Great Influenza" by John Barry (not the James Bond movie
composer). This is the second (and much better) book I've read on this
piece of missing American history.

The surprisingly readable and deeply interesting "Freakonomics" by
Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner.

I'm currently reading some of Clifford Odets' plays, which have turned
out to be fun for someone who thinks of himself as a dialogue junkie.

Also, (and thanks, Jared, for the recommendation) I finally found
"Capote in Kansas" at SPX last weekend. I still feel it bouncing my head
around a few days after finishing it.
