Ian Mackintosh Questions

Ian Mackintosh, as readers of this forum know, created "The Sandbaggers," which was a huge influence on "Queen And Country." Surfing around a Website devoted to that TV series brought up a couple of thoughts.

1. Has any of the British readers in this forum seen some of Mackintosh's other work, such as "Warship"? If so, how does it compare to "The Sandbaggers"?

2. The question crossed my mind whether Mackintosh's disappearance was cover for a defection bid or some other bit of foul business. Mackintosh's brother did mention that there was electronic surveillance equipment in Mackintosh's home. There was also mention of a divergence between the filed flight plan and the actual flight taken.

Frankly, the question makes me queasy just asking it, as I loved "The Sandbaggers" when I caught it on Channel 54. But given that no answers about Mackintosh's disappearance have surfaced in more than 20 years, all reasonable possibilities need to be considered.
