Try following all the "True" accounts of a lot of retired FBI agents. It's funny to see Robert Ressler and John Douglas (both of who claim to have inspired "Silence of the Lambs") dispute each others accounts of the interviews of various serial killers. And we in Sacramento have so many stories about the Yosemite killings it's ridiculous - many told by people who had little to nothing to do with the case...
As far as the "acting like a victim," that's par for the course these days. Being a victim is ironically empowering.
Here in California, we have convicted child molesters petitioning the courts to remove their names from the "Megan's Law" site because it "victimizes" them.
