For Doctor Who, I would recommend "The Parting of the Ways." Possibly "Dalek" or, really, any of the last 3-4 eps of the first series.

For BSG, I'd say either "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part 2" - the last ten minutes of which are just astonishingly good television, or "Pegasus." But KBL2 is just... it's so awesome it blows my mind.
