How come? :)  I've just started reading an advanced reading copy of Dan Simmons' <i>The Terror</i> which is set in 1845-48 during an attempt to discover the Northwest Passage...two ships are frozen into the ice for going on two years and <i>something out there</i> is picking the sailors off, one by one... I just love Simmons!  He's one of my favorite writers; intelligent, crafty, endlessly surprising and wickedly imaginative.

: I highly recommend Wasteland (although I hear #1 is pretty tough to find at this point)!  Basically what we know about the Wasteland world thus far is that it is very dry which appeared to follow a long rainy period (or something like that).  It is not a place I would want to live.  Its sort of like y the last man or the walking dead in its feel.  I've really enjoyed it so far.
