I have read all of Greg's novels more than once and except for Patriot Acts, more than twice. They're all great fare albeit they have a rough edge to them which makes them troubling to some people. I think a lot of people want any killing that Atticus does to have the element of "Let's let the bad guy draw first and then when we kill him it's clearly in self defense." The world, I think is much more complicated than that, and I think that Greg is taking Atticus through some very rough waters since he decided to "protect" Alena and vice versa. It will be very interesting to see where Atticus and Alena go from here. I think that Greg will find a way for Atticus' "Boy Scoutness" to remain intact in spite of the fact that he killed Elliot Trent and Jason Earle in "Patriot Acts". I am looking forward to that and I'm very glad that I'm not Atticus.
Greg is probably thinking, "How full of balogna is this guy?" :)
