: Same reason mercenaries are viewed with more distaste then a soldier I guess. One of in the name of their country, the other in the name of the dollar.

Point taken.

Greg sure writes the AK novels in such a way that it leaves one somewhat on the horns of a dilemma. How can I like both Bridgett and Alena so much when they stand for such different things? But I do. He's an incredible writer in this regard.

He has Atticus and Natalie go in one direction and Bridgett and Dale go in the other direction when it comes to Alena. And yet I can identify with both factions and want to see more of each faction. The AK characters are among the most interesting I've ever run across and I've been reading a lot since I was a teenager in the late 1950's. I hated to see Natalie and Special Agent Dude leave the scene and I hope we haven't seen the last of Bridgett, Erika and Robert Moore.

Tara is also a very special character and I want to see more of her.
