: I was in a special reading program in 2nd grade because I was reading well above my grade level, and they would let me go to the 3rd grade class to do personalized reading assignments with the teacher. I don't remember ever reading a novel before that, and I mowed through that book so many times that year that the teacher just gave me the book at the end of the year...

: I've still got it somewhere, now almost 30 years later. I read a lot of other things that year, too, but SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON was the book that set me on the road to reading for pleasure.
