Not sure if this was asked on the Forum before, but Greg has such incredible Women in his literary stable. Several of them have been torn down, only to rise above adversity and much pain. Survivors.
So who's your favorite and why?
I toss out Tara Chace, Natalie, Bridie, Freeh, Elektra, Diana, Drama, Stetko, Mim and Nyssa and anyone else I may have missed.
For myself. It was Bridie, by far - until Private Wars moved Tara just a tad behind her.
Most comic or literary women may begin 'strong' and independent and eventually end up a mushy dame when love strikes. Not so with Rucka and Bridie. Even when the hurt gets worse, her heart gets harder. What she endures in Shooting at Midnight blew me away, never falters and continues to stand tall - even if she has to stand alone. She can make a tough decision and stick to it.
Tara is a close second, based on Private Wars. Throughout the comics & Gentlemen's game - she is a survivor and at times a masochist for "Queen and Country" but having a child - tore her in two. It's like she had to learn to love, and makes mistakes but doesn't make excuses for it. Whenever she's been out of her element she changes it or moves away from it - you can't do that with a child.
My two cents.
