Nice list of favorite seconds - I also like Joe Pike from Robert Crais' novels and Dot from Lawrence Block's Keller novels. Dot's not the violent type. Or, should I say, not physically demonstrative? She just does a wonderful job of sending Keller, the assassin, out on jobs. I like her attitude.

Greg's been away doing research, and he attended Left Coast Crime for four days plus a signing at Forbidden Planet in Bristol while he was away. He's back now...and just as busy as always, of course...
