Yup, Drama figures significantly in Patriot Acts. You're going to be really pleased with what's he's done (if I say so myself :). I'm with you - can't stand the wait until I can have a real hardcover of it in my hands!

Have you heard of:

Evelyn E. Smith's Miss Melville books. Mostly if not completely out of print. Interesting, but not close to being as compelling as Greg's work. Almost cozy-ish, if you can believe that!

Maureen Tan's AKA Jane series. Romance-y, not like Greg's either, but still enjoyable.

John Sandford's Certain Prey has a hitwoman in it. Maybe you would enjoy Out by Natsuo Kirino? Great book. A Japanese housewife kills her husband; she and her three friends dispose of the body.
