: : Evelyn E. Smith's Miss Melville books.  Mostly if not completely out of print.  Interesting, but not close to being as compelling as Greg's work.  Almost cozy-ish, if you can believe that!

: : Maureen Tan's AKA Jane series.  Romance-y, not like Greg's either, but still enjoyable.

: : John Sandford's Certain Prey has a hitwoman in it.  Maybe you would enjoy Out by Natsuo Kirino?  Great book.  A Japanese housewife kills her husband; she and her three friends dispose of the body.
