Hey y'all, I'm new here. I'm a huge AK fan like most everyone else here. I dug A Gentleman's Game, but haven't got to check out Private Wars yet. The local library doesn't have it, so I'll grab it in paperback. Don't see much chatter about Fistful of Rain, how is it?
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had other recommendations for books. I really like crime and adventure fiction, especially the harder edged stuff. I really like tainted characters, like Vachss' Burke or John Rain. One of the things I admire most about Mr. Rucka's writing is how Atticus seems to change so completely during the story arc, but the changes are slow and are consistent with his personality. I actually like him more now after he bonked the banker on the head and was willing to snipe Oxford.
So anyway, whatever recommendations for bodyguard/assasin/P.I./cop with synesthesia (anyohe read that T. Jefferson Parker book? I meant to check it out) would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to state for the record that while summer is quite a ways away still, it's gonna be a great time for books. Patriot Acts, new Andrews Vachss' book, Barry Eisler, Lee Child, Preston/Child, and a new Myron Bolitar. Good stuff.
Kyle
P.S. At the risk of offending everyone here, does anyone else have a strong dislike of Bridgett? I'm not much of a fan of repeated love interest characters (Lucy, Robin, Rachel Wolfe, etc.), but Bridgett always gives me that bad twitchy "get...away...from...me" feeling.
